Refund & Registration Policy

DROP THE ALPS is a small, limited-capacity event. Every registration supports commitments made in advance for logistics, tracking, safety, permits, crew, media and other event operations.

Because of this, our cancellation policy is designed to give riders flexibility while allowing us to plan the event responsibly.

If you decide not to participate:

Until 22 June 2027
→ 70% of your registration fee will be refunded.

From 23 June 2027 onwards
→ Registration fees are non-refundable.

This applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, including injury, illness, travel problems or personal circumstances.

Want additional flexibility?

During registration, you can add DROP FLEX for €29.

DROP FLEX extends your cancellation window until 9 September 2027 — 14 days before DROP THE ALPS.

With DROP FLEX:

• You can cancel your registration until 9 September 2027.
• You will receive 70% of your registration fee back.
• The €29 DROP FLEX fee is non-refundable.
• Cancellations after 9 September 2027 are not eligible for a refund.
• DROP FLEX must be selected when purchasing your registration and cannot be added afterwards.
• DROP FLEX applies only to the original registered rider.

DROP FLEX cannot be combined with a registration transfer.

If you can't make it to DROP THE ALPS, you can also sell or transfer your registration to another rider.

Transfers are possible until:
23 August 2027 — one month before the event.

All transfers require prior approval from the DROP THE ALPS organization.

The replacement rider must provide the requested information and meet all applicable event requirements.

From 24 August 2027 onwards, registration transfers are closed.

Any private agreement or payment between the original rider and replacement rider is their own responsibility. DROP THE ALPS is not responsible for disputes or payments between participants.

A registration can either be transferred or cancelled through DROP FLEX — the two options cannot be combined.

DROP THE ALPS takes place in alpine and mountainous terrain, where conditions can change quickly.

For safety reasons or circumstances outside our reasonable control, the organization may:

• Modify the route
• Change checkpoints
• Adjust the start or finish
• Delay the event
• Postpone the event
• Cancel the event

This may include extreme weather, natural disasters, road closures, official restrictions, strikes or other unforeseen circumstances.

If the event needs to be postponed or cancelled, DROP THE ALPS will communicate the available options to registered riders based on the circumstances and costs already committed.

Route changes or modifications made for safety reasons do not automatically entitle participants to a refund.

Once you have started DROP THE ALPS, no refund will be issued if you withdraw or do not complete the route.

This also applies if the route is shortened, modified or interrupted after the event has started due to weather, safety concerns or other unforeseen circumstances.

• 22 June 2027 — Last day for standard 70% refunds.
• 23 June 2027 — Standard registrations become non-refundable.
• 23 August 2027 — Last day to transfer your registration.
• 24 August 2027 — Registration transfers close.
• 9 September 2027 — Last day to use DROP FLEX.
• 23 September 2027 — DROP THE ALPS starts.
