Waiver & Assumption of Risk

1. Nature of the activity
Drop The Alps takes place on open public roads, gravel tracks and remote alpine terrain, including at night and in changeable mountain weather. Riders may be far from assistance for extended periods.
2. Assumption of risk
The rider acknowledges the inherent risks of unsupported ultra-distance cycling, including traffic, falls, rockfall, hypothermia, heat, exhaustion, mechanical failure, serious injury and death, and voluntarily accepts those risks.
3. Fitness and equipment
The rider confirms they are medically fit, adequately trained, appropriately insured for accident, health, liability and repatriation cover, and that their bicycle and mandatory equipment are in safe working order.
4. Release of liability
To the extent permitted by Austrian law, the rider releases the organiser, its partners, volunteers and photographers from liability for damages arising from participation, except in cases of intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body or health.
5. Rescue and medical costs
The rider is responsible for all costs of mountain rescue, medical treatment, transport and repatriation arising from their participation.
6. Declaration
By accepting this waiver during registration, the rider confirms that they have read and understood it and enter the event entirely at their own risk.
